This is the privacy policy (“Privacy Policy”) for
SecurityVibes.com
(“Securityvibes.com,” the “Site” “we,” “us,” or “our”).
SecurityVibes.com is a division of Qualys, Inc., (“Qualys”). This
Privacy Policy governs only the personally identifiable information
(“Personal Information”) collected by the Site.
Overview
This Privacy Policy is intended to explain our privacy practices and
inform you as to: (i) the kinds of Personal Information we collect from
users of the Site and how that information is collected; (ii) how we
use your Personal Information; (iii) the circumstances under which we
disclose Personal Information to third parties; (iv) how you can
access, update or delete any Personal Information collected about you
by us; and (v) the mechanisms we have implemented to protect your
Personal Information. Any terms that are not defined in this
Privacy Policy shall have the meaning given in the
Terms of Use Agreement.
By using the Site, you agree to the terms of this Privacy Policy and
the Terms of Use.
Registering and Visiting
the Site
When you visit the Site, you provide us with two types of information:
personal information you knowingly choose to disclose (such as by
filling out a form, or sending messages) and personal information we
collect in connection with your interaction with the Site.
When you register with the Site, you provide us with certain personal
information, such as your email address, a user name and password and
you may optionally provide us your name, a blog address, business
contact information (including company name, type of company,
location), a blog or site address, and your gender.
When you enter the Site, we collect your browser type and IP address.
This information is gathered for all Securityvibes.com visitors. In
addition, we store certain information from your browser using
"cookies." A cookie is a piece of data stored on the user's computer
tied to information about the user. We use session ID cookies to
confirm that users are logged in and storing of the users encrypted
password. These cookies terminate once the user closes the browser. By
default, we use a persistent cookie that stores your login ID (but not
your password) to make it easier for you to login when you come back to
the Site. You can remove or block this cookie using the settings in
your browser if you want to disable this convenience feature. Cookies
are computer specific and browser specific. If you delete a
cookie from one browser, this will not affect the same cookie that is
stored on a different browser.
The Site also uses action tags to collect information. Action tags
(also known as web beacons) are incorporated into the programming of
our Site and are invisible to the user. They allow our
contractors to collect information such as the date/time the designated
page was viewed, how long the user remains on a page, the URL of the
Site or page you are visiting when our ad is served to you, and whether
you view or click on the advertisement. None of the information
collected or shared is personally identifiable.
We use third party contractors to help us measure user behavior, asses
users’ interest in different areas of our sites, manage our online
advertising, or serve our advertisements on the Site or on third party
sites. These contractors use cookies and action
tags to collect information from our visitors as permitted by
applicable law. They share some of the information on user
behavior with us.
The information collected or shared through cookies and action tags is
not personally identifiable, but it might be tracked to an IP address.
When you use the Site, you may set up your personal profile, form
relationships or groups, send messages, perform searches and queries,
set up events, add applications, submit content, and transmit
information through various channels. We collect this information so
that we can provide you the service. In most cases, we retain
it so that, for instance, you can return to view prior messages you
have sent or easily see your contact list. We reserve the
right for technical reasons, or as required by law, to limit the amount
of information stored, or the length of time this information may be
stored on our servers.
Transfer of Data
The servers for this Site are located in the United States.
By using the Site, you are consenting to have your personal data
transferred to and processed in the United States.
Children and Minors
Minors (as defined in the applicable country law) are not permitted to
use this Site. If we find out that we have inadvertently
collected information about a minor, we will immediately delete such
information.
Use of Information

When you register with the Site, you create your own profile and
privacy settings. Your profile information, as well as your user name
and email, are displayed to people in the networks specified in your
privacy settings to enable you to connect with people on the Site. We
may occasionally use your name and email address to send you
notifications regarding new services offered by the Site that we think
you may find valuable.
Profile information you submit to the Site will not be available to
users of the Site unless you configure your privacy settings to enable
other users to view it. Your user name and other profile
related information will be available through the Site and those
limited pieces of information may be made available to third party
search engines. People who see your name in searches,
however, will not be able to access your profile information unless
they have a relationship to you that allows such access based on your
privacy settings.

may send you service-related announcements from time to time through
the general operation of the service. Generally, you may opt
out of such emails by configuring your personal settings.
SecurityVibes.com reserves the right to send you notices about your
account even if you opt out of all voluntary email notifications.
Disclosure to Third
Parties
We do not sell, rent, lease or disclose your Personal Information to
third parties.
Advertisers
When we plan to disclose your Personal Information to a third-party
advertisers we ask for you to opt out, before we collect any
information that we intend to share with a third party
advertiser. If your information is disclosed to advertisers,
their use of your information is subject to the advertiser’s own
privacy policies.
Operational Service Providers. We may need to disclose your
Personal Information to our service providers for administering and
maintaining the Site, features, functions, and operations. We use
service providers to provide some of the content, activities, services,
features, and functions we bring you. We request that our
operational service providers also protect your privacy in accordance
with this Privacy Policy, and that they limit their use of Personal
Information of our visitors to providing services to the Site.
Other Non-Affiliated Third Parties. We will make your

How you can protect your
own Personal Information
When you use the Site, certain information you post or share with third
parties (e.g., another user on the Site), such as personal information,
comments, messages, content, photos, videos, or other information, may
be shared with other users in accordance with the privacy settings you
select. All such sharing of information is done at your own risk.
Please keep in mind that if you disclose personal information in your
profile or when posting comments, messages, photos, videos, content, or
other items, this information may become publicly available and may be
found by search engines.
Please remember to protect your email address, loginID, password, and
computer against unauthorized access. Remember to sign out of your
password-protected account when you are done, and close your browser to
prevent your settings from being displayed to the next user.
Each user is responsible for keeping his/her loginID and password
confidential. Please contact us immediately if you lose or misplace
your login ID and/or password, or if you become aware of an authorized
use of your loginID, password, or account information, so that we can
deactivate your loginID. You will be held responsible for all
activities and access to our Site – including all purchases made
through our Site – that were made through that loginID and password,
and that occurred before you notified us of their loss.
Email and Telephone Fraud

Fraudulent emails, also known as “phishing” or “spoofing” are
communications that appear to be from an insurance company, a
regulatory agency, a retailer, but are not. These emails attempt to
lure you into sending your personal information to a website without
your questioning or challenging the legitimacy of the request.
We do not, and will not, at any time, request your credit information,
personal account information, loginID, or password in an unsecure or
unsolicited email or telephone communication.

responsible for the privacy or other practices of other web sites.

Third Party Advertising
Advertisements that appear on the Site are sometimes delivered (or
"served") directly to users by third party advertisers. They
automatically receive your IP address when this happens.
These third party advertisers may also download cookies to your
computer, or use other technologies such as JavaScript and "web
beacons" (also known as "1x1 gifs") to measure the effectiveness of
their ads and to personalize advertising content. Doing this allows the
advertising network to recognize your computer each time they send you
an advertisement in order to measure the effectiveness of their ads and
to personalize advertising content. In this way, they may compile
information about where individuals using your computer or browser saw
their advertisements and determine which advertisements are
clicked. SecurityVibes.com does not have access to or control

party advertisers have no access to your contact information stored at

covers the use of cookies by the Site and does not cover the use of
cookies or other tracking technologies by any of its
advertisers. Users who do not want this kind of tracking

Forums, Bulletin Boards,
and other related Chat Portions of the Site
If you use a forum, bulletin board, chat room or other chat tool on the
Site, you should be aware that any personally identifiable information
you submit there can be read, collected, or used by other users of
these forums, and could be used to send you off-topic information or
commentary. SecurityVibes.com is not responsible for the
personally identifiable information you choose to submit in these
forums. You are also responsible for using these forums in a
manner consistent with the
Terms
of Use or other terms and conditions set forth on the
relevant forum site.
Changing or Removing
Information
Access and control over most personal information on the Site is
readily available through the profile editing tools. Site users may
modify or delete any of their profile information at any time by
logging into their account or user profile. Information will be updated
immediately. Individuals who wish to deactivate their Site profile may
do so in the Settings Panel page.. Removed information may persist in
backup copies for a reasonable period of time according to our document
retention policies, but will not be generally available to other
participants of the Site. Where you use the communication
features of the Site to share content or other materials with other
individuals on the Site, however, (e.g., sending a personal message to
another Site user) you generally cannot remove such communications.

time changes are made they will be posted prominently on our

any changes to this Privacy Notice constitutes your acceptance to these

Security
We maintain reasonable physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards
to protect your information while it is in our custody in accordance
with accepted industry standards. We have no control over
